"Islam aur Firqawariyat" (Islam and Sectarianism) opens on the concern named in its own title and its opening epigraph — the Quran's repeated call to "hold fast to the rope of Allah, together, and do not become divided" (Al-i-Imran 3:103). The book takes as its starting point a hadith well known to its readers, that the community would eventually splinter into seventy-three sects, and sets out to ask why that division has deepened rather than healed.

Its early chapters turn a critical eye on the present age itself, describing a generation absorbed in material pursuit, and argue that Muslims have drifted from the Quran — the very "constitution" the author insists should govern their affairs — in favor of frameworks borrowed from elsewhere.

From there the argument builds toward Tawheed and the Quranic vision of the Ummah as a single nation under one law and one movement, returning again and again to the same remedy: unity grounded in the Quran and the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him), rather than in the loyalties that divide sect from sect.

It is less a chronicle than an argument — a call, addressed to a divided community, to recover the unity it once had by returning to the Book that first gave it that unity.
